Sandra Abdalian founded Your Career Engineer because she wanted to inspire and empower women in STEM to own their own path to personal success. She believes that digging deep to uncover our passions and identifying our personality traits, skills and abilities will lead us to meaningful work and a balanced life. Sandra provides women with the tools, resources, and inspiration to engineer their unique path and to pave their success journey.
Sandra also founded a consulting business, Lean Your World, that focuses on increased productivity through improved communication. Thought this business, her goal is to to provide organizations with the powerful skills to communicate well, build meaningful relationships, and maximize effectiveness thus creating an engaging work environment where employees can thrive and productivity is optimal.
Sandra’s previous career was at Harris Corporation in Quality, Lean Manufacturing and Program Management roles in an electronics-communication manufacturing environment. In her early twenty’s she was the youngest Quality Engineer to become a Group Lead Manager. During her management role she had experience in hiring employees and mentoring other engineers in their careers. She also has several years of experience in leading teams through lean project facilitation and was a Program Manager that lead teams to build electronics avionics equipment for multi-million dollar contracts. She has the proven ability to lead, plan and execute programs and business initiatives to improve operations. She is an excellent communicator, highly organized and extremely detail-oriented.
Sandra also has a passion for her community. She was chosen by Harris Corporation to be the 2008 Loaned Leader – a program where a company donates an employee to work full time for the local United Way for their fundraising campaign. During her campaign season, she helped raise over $6.6 Million dollars for the community. She continues to be involved in her local community, as well as a volunteer for her church.
Sandra has been affiliated with the Society of Women Engineers and the Institute of Industrial Engineers.
Sandra holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from University of Florida. She is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
